Belle's easy golden syrup dumplings
The yummiest of dumplings served with Custard and cream or delectable just with icecream.
BELLES EASY GOLDEN SYRUP DUMPLINGS
- Get saucepan in saucepan put
- 1 Cup of water and
- 1/2 cup sugar and
- 4 Tablespoons of jam or honey or golden syrup turn on med heat to boil give a stir
In a bowl
1 cup of self raising flour sifted
2 tablespoons of cold butter you must use your fingers tips to make it like a crumb working the butter completely through the flour like you would for a crumble
Add 1 egg to the mixture in ur bowl be sure that you have beaten with fork prior to adding
Method
I used a knife to then mix through then my fingers if the mixture is to dry add splash of milk so that your able to make a dough ball using the ball to press away any flour mixture from the bowls sides,remembering the more you work it the less fluffy they will be
Take out of bowl grab sprinkle of flour make a fat snake roll about the size 20 cm or whatever you desire the fatter they are the nicer they are portion in half then half again so that you have 6 balls,make sure the mixture in saucepan with the water and sugar with the jam or whatever you choose is actively boiling place one round ball in the middle and the other 5 around wait for 5 mins gently use spoon or spatulas to turn so ball is coated on the other side,the balls will get bigger and not be dough like then they are what’s called ready turn heat down until the mixture is only covering the balls unless you want to have a runnier liquid….its ready to eat
